Description
Mojura fans have a range of 5 grip shapes to meet the needs of even the most techy fan spinner along the spectrum of techy style preference. From USA-box-tech to Russian-momentum-tech! All of our fans use the same grip shapes, so your fire fans will feel the same as your practice fans 🙂
The Mojura One Piece fans are 3D printed in one piece, unlike our actual Mojura Fans that are modular with separate components for grips and frames. Our “One Piece” fans come in bright UV-reactive, or glow-in-the-dark colour options.
Now Enhanced with Fil X SBS Technology
We’ve taken our Mojura Fans to the next level by printing them with SBS filament developed by Fil X in Cape Town — making them stronger, more durable, and bouncier than our HDPE fans or wooden fans. The upgraded design features a textured grip along the sides for better control and stability during high-speed spins, intricate tech, and tosses.
SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene) is a high-performance elastomer known for its exceptional flexibility, impact resistance, and lightweight resilience. Unlike traditional materials, SBS offers a rubber-like feel while maintaining structural integrity—ideal for flow props that demand responsiveness, softness, and strength. It also has excellent layer adhesion and shock-absorbing properties, making it perfect for performers who like to push boundaries without compromising durability.
At Flow DNA, we believe design must serve function. Every detail—from balance to grip to flow—is purposefully refined by object manipulation artist Duncan Greenwood, whose life is dedicated to movement, flow, and performance. As the lead designer behind the Mojura Fans, Duncan is meticulous about weight distribution, texture, and ergonomics. His hands-on approach ensures that each fan is perfectly balanced for smooth rotations, optimally weighted for precision control, and comfortable in the hand for extended practice and performance.
This is more than an upgrade—it’s a new standard for flow fans. Designed by artists. Built to move.
They were created from the ground up not just to look good, but ergonomically to feel good in your hands however you hold them (not just on the handles). They are shaped to stimulate persistence of vision effects in motion, and rounded off for the comfort of holding them, with a slightly bubbly feel to touch.
FEATURES:
– Balanced and shaped for box-tech manipulation, fishtails, gunslingers, spinning, and juggling*.
– Centre-of-mass marked out with a logo.
– Side balance points visibly indicated.
– They feel great for layering 2-fans-1-hand techniques.
– Padded square handles for tactile feedback on 90 degree angles.
– Additional grips on the sides for extra techy movement opportunities.
– Comfortable to hold at any point along the edges, as well as the inside of the fans.
– Made from highly durable SBS plastic.*
*Although we have tested these fans by bouncing them on bricks, we are obligated to recommend that you don’t do that. Rather bounce them on less abrasive surfaces. They also can start softening and warping when they’re subjected to temperatures over 70°C (158°F) for extended periods.
CHOOSING A GRIP STYLE:
Little Ring (38mm / 1.5″):
(AKA Extra-box-tech grip for USA styles)
We added these grips after realizing that some extra-techy spinners really want to put their 2 fingers into smaller holes. If you’re one of those people, and you prefer to do boxy-techy things with a tighter fit for your 2 fingers, then these are the grips for you.
Small Ring (51mm / 2″):
(AKA Box-tech grip for USA styles)
These are made to fit 3 fingers, or 2 large fingers.
If you like to perform box-techy manipulations that involve more jerky movements where you need to stall the fans at specific angles, then this is the grip for you.
Extra Medium Ring (63.5mm / 2.5″):
(AKA The Goldilocks Grip)
These are made for big hands with 3 fingers, or petite hands with 4 fingers.
Slightly more techy than the medium ring. Slightly more finger space than the small-ring. Possibly just right for the most in-between of all tech styles.
Medium-Ring (76mm / 3″):
(AKA Hybrid-tech grip for Jack-of-all styles)
These are made for 4 fingers, or 3 very large fingers. Having more ring to hold on to is better for swinging/weaving techniques and tosses than the small-ring grips, while there is still enough flat handle space to hold onto for stalls and plane-switches. This grip is trying to be the best of both worlds.
Big-Ring (89mm / 3.5″):
(AKA momentum tech for Russian styles)
If you prefer to spin your fans in a continuous flow, performing lots of weaves and fountains, or if you want to do a lot of tosses with your fans, then you want a nice big ring. A large hand-hole allows for wilder spinning momentum-tech movements, and is easier to catch in the air. Box-tech stalling and tutting/switching is less easy with this grip, but still possible, and the squared handle helps with that.
